Pulling from the mythology of Lake Erie, we built the film around the awakening of the Sirens. A presence that's always been there, just beneath the surface, waiting for its moment to emerge. We approached the story in four phases: suppression, awakening, emergence, and takeover. As the piece progresses, the city begins to feel their presence, building toward the full reveal of Cleveland's newest team.
We combined on-location filming throughout Cleveland with virtual production using a VP wall, blending real environments with surreal imagery to bring the mythology to life. In post, we worked closely with our VFX and CGI partners to bring the Siren herself to life, building on what we captured practically to create a world that felt both grounded and otherworldly. Water, movement, lighting, and sound all played a part in bringing that world together, connecting the mythology of the Sirens back to the city of Cleveland. The piece also connects Cleveland's basketball past to its future, with former Cleveland Rockers player Janice Braxton lending her voice to the story.
This is HER story. This is HER voice. And the world is listening.
