As the iconic Heidelberg Project celebrates its 40th anniversary, we at Woodward Original are honored to tell the story of this legendary Detroit neighborhood art movement that has made waves around the world. In this micro-documentary, produced in partnership with the Gilbert Family Foundation, we capture insights from founding artist Tyree Guyton, Executive Director Colleen McLellan, Gilbert Family Foundation Director of Arts & Culture Akua Hill, and neighborhood resident Shantinique Cunningham.

Together, they reflect on the deep community impact of the Heidelberg Project and how its incredible legacy is being carried forward through the renovation of the iconic Number House.
